Vinyl and tape rip splitterA whole side, split at the gaps.
Upload the rip and the splitter puts a cut in every quiet gap between songs; check them, name the tracks, and download.
MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A/AAC or Ogg/Opus up to 450 MB
01Upload the rip
One side or a whole record as WAV or FLAC (or MP3), up to 450 MB.
02Find the gaps
Set how quiet counts as silence and how long a gap must be; the tracks appear on the waveform as you move the sliders.
03Name and download
Fix any cut, type the titles from the sleeve, add the cover scan, and download the tracks.
What people split with it
An LP side recorded in one take
Split each side of a record into its songs by the gaps, then tag them from the sleeve.
A cassette or reel-to-reel transfer
Tape hiss between songs is handled by raising the silence level until the gaps register.
An old album saved as one file
Any recording with quiet between tracks can be split the same way, not just vinyl.
Questions, answered
How does it find the gaps between songs?
"Find tracks automatically" looks for stretches quieter than a level you set that last at least as long as you set, and puts a cut in the middle of each one. It never cuts at the silence before the first song or after the last, so the run-in and run-out grooves stay with the first and last tracks.
What if surface noise hides the gaps?
Raise the "how quiet counts as silence" slider until the crackle between songs counts as quiet, and watch the cuts appear on the waveform as you go. If a quiet passage inside a song gets cut, make the minimum gap longer. Any track can still have its start time edited, be deleted, or be added by hand before you split.
My rip is a big WAV. Will it work?
The limit is 450 MB per file, about 45 minutes of CD-quality WAV, so one LP side fits easily. For a whole high-resolution album, save it as FLAC first. Files over 60 MB show no waveform at first; choose to upload the file to draw it, and silence detection works from there, with the split reusing that upload.
Do I keep the quality of my rip?
Yes. With "Keep original" a WAV rip gives WAV tracks with the same samples, and a FLAC rip gives lossless FLAC tracks, 24-bit kept. FLAC tracks also get your cover scan embedded, which WAV cannot hold.
Is it free?
Yes, with no account and no limit on the number of tracks. The rip is uploaded over HTTPS, cut on our server, and deleted once your downloads are ready.
