Questions, answered

Is splitting a FLAC file lossless?
Yes. With "Keep original" each track is re-encoded to FLAC losslessly, so the decoded samples are identical to the source; only the compression is redone. A 24-bit FLAC stays 24-bit.
Can the FLAC tracks have cover art?
Yes. Add a cover image and it is embedded in every FLAC track as a picture block, alongside tags for title, artist, album, year, genre and track number. Players that show FLAC artwork will show it without a separate folder.jpg.
Can I split a FLAC with a CUE sheet?
Not yet: the splitter does not read CUE files. Open the .cue in a text editor and copy the title and INDEX 01 time of each track into the paste box as "MM:SS Title" lines, dropping the last part of the time (CUE times end in frames, like 03:45:12), or mark the tracks on the waveform.
How big a FLAC file can I upload?
Up to 450 MB per file. A FLAC is usually around half the size of the same audio as WAV, so that covers well over an hour of CD-quality audio in most cases.
Is the FLAC splitter free?
Yes, it is free with no account and no limit on the number of tracks. Your file is uploaded over HTTPS, cut on our server with FFmpeg, and deleted once your downloads are ready.
