Split audio by silenceFind the quiet parts, cut there.
Two sliders decide what counts as a gap; every gap becomes a cut you can see on the waveform before anything is split.
MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A/AAC or Ogg/Opus up to 450 MB
01Upload the audio
Any MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A or Ogg/Opus file of up to 450 MB.

Edit, add or delete tracks, name them, and download them as one zip or one at a time.
What people split with it
Albums and rips with gaps between songs

Recorded talks and readings
Cut at the longer pauses between sections or speakers.
Sample and field recordings
Separate one-shot sounds recorded back to back into their own files.
Questions, answered
How does silence detection decide where to cut?
You set two things: how quiet the audio has to be to count as silence, and how long it has to stay that quiet. Every stretch that meets both gets one cut, placed in the middle of the gap, so each track keeps a little of the pause at both ends.
Does it cut off the silence at the start and end?
No. Silence before the first sound and after the last is never treated as a gap between tracks, so you do not get empty tracks at either end. The quiet stays attached to the first and last tracks.
Can I fix the cuts it finds?
Yes. The results appear as tracks on the waveform and in the track list, where you can edit any start time, delete a track, or add your own before splitting. If you change your mind, Cancel puts the track list back the way it was.
Does it work on very large files?
Files of up to 450 MB can be split. Over 60 MB, the waveform is not drawn in the page at first; choose to upload the file to draw it, and silence detection works on that upload, which the split then reuses.
Is it free? Does it change the audio?
It is free, with no account and no limit on tracks. With "Keep original" the tracks keep the source format and quality; an MP3 is cut without re-encoding. You can also choose MP3, AAC, Opus, FLAC or WAV as the output.
