Questions, answered

Does splitting an M4A file convert it?
No. With "Keep original" the AAC audio is kept as AAC and each track is an .m4a, the same as the source. You only convert if you choose another output, such as MP3, Opus, FLAC or WAV.
Do the M4A tracks keep cover art and tags?
Yes. Each .m4a track gets title, artist, album, year, genre and track number tags, and the cover art you add is embedded in the file, so players that show artwork display it.
Can I split an M4B audiobook into chapters?
Not yet. M4B audiobook files and their built-in chapter markers are not supported. If you have the audiobook as an M4A or MP3, you can paste the chapter start times and split it that way.
Can I split a voice memo from my iPhone?
Yes. iPhone voice memos are M4A files, so you can upload one from the Files app, mark where each part starts, and download the parts. Every part has its own download button, so you never need to open a zip on the phone.
Is it free? How big can the file be?
It is free with no account and no limit on the number of tracks. One upload can be up to 450 MB. The file is cut on our server and deleted once your downloads are ready.
