Questions, answered

What timestamp formats can I paste?
Minutes and seconds ("4:05") or hours, minutes and seconds ("1:04:05"), at the start or the end of each line. Brackets like [04:05] or (4:05), ranges like "00:00 - 03:21 Title", track numbers, bullets and dashes or pipes between time and title are all understood. Each line with a time becomes a track, and the rest of the line becomes its title.
My WAV is too big to upload. What can I do?
The limit is 450 MB per file, which is roughly 45 minutes of CD-quality WAV. Save the recording as FLAC first: it is the same audio, usually around half the size, and the splitter can still give you WAV tracks back. Otherwise, cut it into two files and split each one.
Do the WAV tracks keep their tags and cover art?
WAV tracks get their title, artist, album, year, genre and track number written as RIFF INFO tags, which many players read. WAV has no standard place for cover art, so no cover is embedded. If you want artwork, choose FLAC as the output: it is just as lossless and holds the cover.
Does splitting a WAV lose quality?
No. With "Keep original" each track is a WAV with exactly the samples of the source. You can also write lossless FLAC, or MP3, AAC or Opus at 128 to 320 kbps if the tracks need to be small.
Is it free, and do I need an account?
Yes, it is free, and no account is needed. There is no limit on the number of tracks you cut from one WAV. The file is uploaded over HTTPS, cut on our server, and deleted once your downloads are ready.
